Igor V. Dovgal

The field of research and scientific interests:

During last 25 years I am engaged in study fauna, ecology, systematics, evolution and phylogeny of sessile protists. The basic scientific interests concerned investigation of Suctorea, Chonotrichia, Pilisuctorida and Apostomatea (Ciliophora). Recently appreciable attention I give to development of the own concept of a hydrodynamical boundary layer of a liquid as an adaptive zone for sessile protists. Also I am interested by questions of evolution of protists ontogenesis (ciliates especially) in connection with transition the last to the attached mode of life. Has published more 100 scientific works in the Ukrainian, Russian and international journals including more than 50 articles and three monographs.
